Prep Yourself

:: Handbag,  Pumps, Jacket {via warehouse sale},  Dress,  Button Down {old},

I absolutely love all things nautical, and this jacket just does it for me. I snatched this baby up about a month ago while experiencing my first Jcrew Warehouse Sale. I couldn't be happier with it. While it does have a summer feel,  I plan on finding ways to wear this throughout the fall season. The weather in East Tennessee has been all over the place, so finding ways to wear it soon shouldn't be an issue.

I also am loving this dress which is a recent Jcrew Factory purchase. I love the versatility of being able to wear it sleeveless during summer and starting to layer during fall to keep it in the mix. I could; however, kick myself because now I could get half off of what I paid. ((This always happens to me!))

Layering is my favorite thing about fall fashion. Being able to toss a button up under my favorite dresses makes getting ready so easy.  I am by nature a creature of habit, so getting stuck in the same color story for extended periods of time isn't out of the ordinary. I try to buffer this by changing out accessories and sticking with a semi-neutral palette.

I hope everyone has an amazing end to the week. If you're like me, you're working for the weekend! Especially one that is three days!!!! I cannot wait for Labor Day and of course the FIRST Saturday of college football!!!! Is anyone planning on attending a game? If not, you're missing out! Especially those SEC fans out there. Even if sports aren't your thing, there is something about the atmosphere and activities surrounding football season that would make anyone happy!

Thanks for stopping by! I plan to have another post up before the weekend on my favorite looks from summer so be on the look out.

Sunday Best

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone has had an amazing weekend! Mine was pretty stacked, but in the best way. We spent the weekend with friends, enjoyed a baseball game, and celebrated birthdays. I'm so grateful to finally have weekends off. You don't realize how special they truly are until you are constantly working and missing out on special moments.

Luke and I also spent some time making wedding plans!!! We finally have our honeymoon spot picked out and couldn't be more thrilled! We are going to Martha's Vineyard which has always been at the top of my list for places to visit. I will literally be counting down the days!

Starting the adventure of wedding planning can be overwhelming, but Luke and I promised each other the second we got engaged that we wouldn't let our wedding overshadow our marriage. Not to say that's an easy task!!! Who doesn't want perfect centerpieces, pictures... well EVERYTHING perfect for their wedding? Said no one EVER! I just want to constantly remind myself that none of that matters if you don't take the time to enjoy what the process is really about.

In other news... I did want to share my look for church today. I love this Loft dress and am trying to wear my favorite summer pieces before it's too late. That's my project for the upcoming week.

The dress was a loft clearance find this past spring. I love the drop waist and fabrication. The dress moves with you and is incredibly comfortable.

I love these heels, I purchased them as soon as I got word h&m had started an online shop: praise The Lord! Seriously, why did they wait so long? Not to mention: these heels were $30 and a similar pair I wanted this past spring came in at the $150 mark. What a steal!

In other news: I found this sweet ride when out to lunch after church today! Could there been more perfect timing?

I also discovered a new hair style! I'm in dire need of a highlight (next Saturday's appointment can't come soon enough!!). So don't judge! Let me know if you'd like a tutorial!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Gorgeous

Hi there! My name is Lacey and I am a twenty-something southern girl with a love for fashion and beauty.  Having spent most of my life slaving away in retail jobs, fashion has always been my escape and way of expressing myself. I am so excited to be in a place in my life where fashion can truly be a hobby and not a job.

I'm also what some may consider a beauty junkie. I've spent several years watching tutorial after tutorial from some of my favorite you-tubers. Make-up is definitely something I love and you can always catch me in search of a new tube of lipstick anytime I'm having a bad day.

My fiance Luke and I are currently planning our wedding for next summer, so you can bet on some wedding-related posts finding their way here... I am so excited to start our lives as newleyweds!! Words can't even describe.

With this blog I hope to share the things that are important in my life and learn about others along the way. I feel that you can always learn from those around you and the world is a pool of infinite knowledge.

Enough about me... let's get to the good stuff!!!

For this introduction post, I figured I would focus in on a couple of my staples: a white graphic tee and my jcrew pixie pants. I've had these pants for a couple seasons now and even have them in a couple other colors. There is simply no comparison for these riding style leggings. With a zip back detail and sturdy composition, you really can't go wrong.

A couple of new additions also made the cut. My Rebecca Minkoff mini-Mac was a definite investment I had to make this spring. At the time I made the purchase, I was a little weary of the tough gold hardware, but she has grown on me and I can't wait to style with this bag all fall and winter.

As anyone who's picked up a magazine or browsed their blog lovin feed lately knows, the valentino rockstud collection has taken over. I'm not much for studs myself, so these BCBG generation heels did just the trick. Much more understated without all the hardware, but with the same general styling idea. Coming in at $39.99, these are my fab find for fall!

Finally, my jacket was something on my fall wish list that I finally tracked down. I adore the berry trend for fall and the scallop edges definitely sucked me in.  The jacket was a recent clearance purchase from a local boutique, I scored it for $35. Boom!

Thanks for reading and remember to subscribe via Bloglovin' to see posts regularly.
