Something in the way she moves, or looks my way, or calls my name that seems to leave this troubled world behind.

Dress: River Island, similar | Hat: Nordstrom, similar | Sandals: Tory Burch |
Bag: Tory Burch | Earrings: old, similar | Sunglasses: Dior | Necklace: Love Always

I feel like I continue to pull out pieces that were early summer purchases I have yet to wear. This is another one of those... woops! I was so obsessed with this dress when I found it in May on Asos and took it on the honeymoon... the cool temps didn't allow for it and here I am just now giving it its glory. The print mix is perfection and the weight made for the perfect dress to wear for the trip to Raliegh to get Rosey.

I am also obsessed with my new bag! I had been debating on this one forever... and finally broke down. I did a size comparison of this to the regular size and worn cross body this one just made more sense to me. The larger version really looked silly when I placed the shoulder strap on... I am still loving that size though so maybe I'll snag up another. (If hubby allows...)

Happy Friday! TGIF major today!!!!! I need this weekend, BAD!

Bundled up in color...

Remember me saying it was cold? I was just kidding... now it's cold... We are seriously at 0! When is this crazy freeze going to end? The only ways I am getting through can be summed up in one word: layers. I work inside most of the day so wearing heavy layers on top and lighter underneath is a must. I start with something like a light blouse, move to a sweater, and then end with a heavy coat. I'm not much of a glove wearer... I usually wear them the first five minutes I'm in the car on my commute and toss them for the day. I just feel super restricted... and mostly can't handle not being able to use my phone. (I can't get the touch screen compatible gloves to work).

This coat is one of my most prized possessions. I love the color (read about my yellow obession here) and that the sleeve isn't full length. I realize three quarter sleeves are really meant for fall, but I like to be able to move. I also love this coat for the reason that layers don't feel super bulky underneath. I love the sweater ( I wore it to cover up during my best friends wedding... it was a chilly night and we weren't very covered in our strapless bridesmaids dresses). The hi-lo effect is hard to see here, but it really is the best part. Polka dots don't hurt either though...

I thought I needed some extra color so I threw on a sleeveless blouse in the popular color of the year (Radiant Orchid). At first I thought the colors might be a little overwhelming together, but I actually love the combo...

Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: Mudpie
Headwrap: Anthropologie

Other thoughts: Hunter Boots aren't just for rain. Outside of UGG boots... they are kind of the only thing that keep me warm. I throw on boot socks and I'm set.

Have a great day and stay warm!

Printed Poppy

Top: old: similar here | Blazer: Target | Denim: HudsonBoots: Lacoste
Bag: Louis Vuitton | Necklace: similar here | Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: J Crew | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Lippie: Stila Poppy

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for the weekend! I have also been super ready for a splash of inspiration for outfits lately. Who would have thought that splash would come from a new lip product obsession? These Stila lip laquers are serious perfection! I have never found a lip product that produced so much shine and color payoff in one. The shade I'm wearing is called Poppy and it truly is my new favorite color.

The top and blazer have been in my closet for a while, and when I was perusing my closet I pulled them out thinking: match made in heaven! Black and white is one of my all time favorite color combos and the poppy red gave some extra umph!

Bringing old and new together to help spin old pieces in my closet is a major priority of mine right now and I'm glad to be off to a great start! How are you guys giving your tried and trues a fresh take in 2014?

Have a blessed weekend and thank you for reading!
